Welcome to the online edition of Metis, the Undergraduate Journal of Classical Studies!

Mother to Greece’s most powerful goddess of wisdom, Metis was  a force for counsel and deep thought in mythology.  Her name itself means “widsom” and “cunning,” two highly esteemed qualities to the ancient Athenians.  This literary journal has always sought to seek qualities such as these in the work of Classics students here at Wesleyan, and this edition has compiled works, both academic and artistic, that showcase the creativity, passion, and knowledge that comprise the spectrum of Classical Studies.

Please use the headings above to navigate this year’s submissions, and enjoy.
